This trip is a cracker for those that like to tow. Designed for off road campers or caravans  with new or experienced drivers. New to four wheel driving? or perhaps new to towing! Gain some real practical experience, towing on sand and outback roads or tracks.  Consisting mainly of bush camping, with a few outback  pubs to visit along the way.

Leaving Melbourne our first night’s camp will be on the Murray River near Mildura. We will crossover borders so, fruit and vegetable checkpoints apply. After refueling and stocking our pantry’s we will head off into some reasonable remote areas that include Arkaroola in the Gammon Ranges. At Arkaroola we will spend some time on a different tour as we experience the famous ridge top tour.  We will also view rock art whilst traveling on some picturesque tracks without the van behind. We will hit the Oodnadatta track at Maree S.A, where we will stop at the Hotel campsite for the night. Experience an outback pub meal, I think they are awesome!

Travelling on up the track we will stop at all the sights. These include the Old Ghan Railway sidings, natural springs, old bubblers, you will also see the ruins of the Overland Telegraph Station. Another old outback pub is at William Creek, we will stop here for a break. Walk over the longest railway bridge on the Ghan Railway “Algebuckina”, also we visit the old mine ruins at Peak as we meander up to Oodnadatta. From Oodnadatta we travel to Dalhousie Springs (pending track conditions) then into Mt Dare Hotel for another break and fuel. North again travelling up Binns track to Old Andado Station. We visit Old Andado thats Molly Clark’s home on the very edge of the Simpson Desert before continuing North up Binns Track to Alice Springs where our trip concludes. There is plenty to see in the Alice and surrounding area, explore at your leisure extending your adventure by spending a few more days or weeks.
