Victorian High Country Tours

The tour will start from Yarra Glen on Melbourne’s outskirts on a Monday morning and will continue through Picture Point, Wonnangatta, Talbotville, Blue Rag and Dargo – before concluding back on the outskirts of Melbourne on Friday afternoon.

We will head up through Mansfield to Sheepyard Flat for our first night. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit Lovick’s Hut. You can also absorb the history that lies behind eight different huts that were featured in the film ‘Man from Snowy River’. Additionally, you will get to climb/descend a couple of mountains, see some spectacular high-country views and cross a couple of rivers.

The best part is that there will be no crowds or congestion on the tracks. However, keep in mind that weather conditions or track closures can cause changes to our itinerary. Luckily, you don’t have to worry about that – as your tour leader will adjust the tracks accordingly.

What’s the best time for the tour?

Victorian High Country will test you and your vehicle – as you will come across some steep tracks and river crossings. The most popular touring season is the summer season, from mountaineering to breweries, Victorian High Country is a ripper of a 4×4 playground!
